Thinking Too Much?
"Christian Life" June 8,2012 Christians are to be people of great hope. Our hope is in God: "Hope in God" (Psalm 45:5). Our hope is future oriented, often called "the hope of eternal life" (Titus 3:7). Our hope gives us stability because it is not a mere wish about the future, but a strong confidence about the future: "This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both true and steadfast" (Hebrews 6:19). Our hope should bring us great joy because it is not just a confident expectation about the future, but a confident expectation of good things to come in the future: "Fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ" (1 Peter 1:13). And our hope of these good things to come is Christ-centered: ".. .Christ in you, the hope of glory" (Colossians 1:27).
